About Words to Live By

Hello My name is Glenn Atkins and want to tell you a little about Words to Live By. As you may know, Words to live by is a widely recognized phrase, but its true meaning lies in our personal values and morals. It’s like the phrases “America Strong” or “Strong” adopted during times of struggle or tragedy. We often come together as a nation, but this unity is fleeting. After the Lewiston mass shooting, we embraced “Lewiston Strong,” but how long does this mentality last? It’s acceptable to say it, but we must live it. That’s why I’ve been trying to make sense of the words using creative phrases, not just clichés. Words like “Acceptance,” “Inclusion,” and “Words to Live By” are being used on apparel and other items, and even in songs.

The message is clear: when we come together, we must stay together. Not just during times of struggle and tragedy, but always.

I understand that we have differences, but doesn’t that make us the same? Among the many things we share, two are certain: we all live and we all die. That means no one is superior to the other.
